Collective Z Group Exhibition <The Ordinary>

The Ordinary begins with a simple premise: being queer is ordinary. Not invisible. Not assimilated. Not quietly tolerated. Ordinary — in the sense that it requires no justification, no performance, no special occasion. It is a fact of life, like any other. What we are looking for is work that carries that same quality of certainty. Work that engages — formally or conceptually — with queer (LGBTQ) experience, or work that arrives with a strong, singular point of view. We review every submission with great care. What we are after is work that is unmistakable.

• Submission Deadline: May 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST • Artwork Drop-off / Delivery: May 26 - 27 (with evening hours available) • Opening Reception: June 1, 2026, 6-9 PM (subject to change) • Exhibition Dates: June 1 - 30, 2026 (additional programming to be announced)

• LGBTQ-identifying artists at any career stage • All locations welcome (please apply as early as possible if your artwork requires shipping) • Individual or collaborative practices

• Exhibition in a Lower East Side gallery and virtually on Artsy • Installation photography documentation • Collector/curator preview events • Sales support and promotion (50/50 gallery split on works sold) • Inclusion on website and press outreach • Dedicated Instagram Post / Reel + Story • Consideration for art fair participation, future exhibitions, and projects • Art Spoon online and offline promotion support

• The artist is responsible for the cost of transporting artworks to and from the gallery, and the buyer is responsible for the shipping costs of sold artworks. • Please submit your application well in advance, as system overload may occur near the deadline. • Personal information collected during the application process will only be used for participant management purposes, such as identity verification and evaluation, and will not be used for any other purpose. • For inquiries related to the open call, please use the Channel Talk button at the bottom right of the site between 11 AM and 6 PM on weekdays. • Please ensure that the materials, size, and price are all listed for the registered artworks. • Upon completion of the application, it is considered that you have read and agreed to all of these notices.
